·      The cask, which is being offered In Bond only, is lying at Dictador’s historic distillery in Cartagena, Colombia.

The buyer will be responsible for the costs of the shipment from Rotterdam to the final destination. All local taxes and duties associated with the import of the bottles into their final destination are to be covered by the buyer.

·      Should you wish to store the bottles under bond in the bonded warehouse in Rotterdam, Dictador offer two years gratis storage in their account, with charges being applied thereafter.

TASTING NOTE

Dictador 1980

Colour: Engine Oil

Nose: This is a big spirit! The 62.7% ABV takes no prisoners and bursts out of the glass bringing with it a lot of flavour. This is a glass that is not difficult to talk about.

First and foremost, it’s dry fruit: Toffee, Daim bars and salted caramel dark chocolate journey into Liquorice Allsorts. It is also discernibly smoky, heavily charred casks giving notes of burnt ends, a glazed ham with fennel seeds and the smell of a leather jacket the day after a barbecue. With time in the glass it mellows nicely, developing notes of dark roasted cold-brew coffee with a spoonful of treacle and a dash of almond milk, chocolate raisins and toffee popcorn.

Palate: A lot of heat from the high alcohol and with it comes wood spices, espresso-butter on warm banana bread, hot rooibos and liquorice root tea, cigar tobacco and a box of raisins. After a drop of water this rum opens up with cola, leather and fig rolls.

Finish: The finish is medium-long with the fruitiness first to ease followed by spices, leaving an oaky finish with noticeable tannin.
