Sotheby’s signature sale of Royal & Noble Jewels, a yearly tradition during our November Geneva Luxury sales, unites rare and exceptional jewels with outstanding Royal and noble provenances. These highly specialised sales continue Sotheby's illustrious legacy of the Single Owner Sales of the Jewels of the Bourbon Parma family and ‘Vienna 1900: An Imperial and Royal Collection’ and have for the last three consecutive editions achieved white glove status. In recent years, the Royal and Noble Jewels sales have featured many highly significant jewels appearing on the auction market for the very first time in their long and storied existences such as the legendary diamond negligée necklace of the Marquesses of Anglessey and the diamond hat ornament which Napoleon lost when fleeing from the Battle of Waterloo and which later joined the Prussian Royal treasury.
