Offered in this lot, is a pair of Patrick Ewing New York Knicks 1995-1996 Game Used and Dual Signed Sneakers.


The sneakers have been assessed for game use by Sports Investors Authentication and passed, but for the sake of clarity, they are not photomatched. Sotheby's is comfortable with a Game Used attribution due to the provenance.


The sneakers are accompanied by a letter from James Spence in regard to the signatures. 


Ewing wore this style on many occasions throughout the 1995-1996 season, including in notable games such as the 1996 NBA All-Star Game and the Eastern Conference Semifinals, against Jordan and the Chicago Bulls.   


At 7 feet tall, Patrick Ewing was a towering figure among the skyscrapers of New York City, where he played 15 of his 17 career seasons for the New York Knicks. The legendary Hall of Famer is an 11-time NBA All-Star with 2 Olympic Gold Medals. His incredible skills led him to achieve more than 24,000 points and 11,000 rebounds. He was named to the '50 Greatest Players in NBA History' list in 1996.


Over his incredible career, Ewing averaged 21 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game.
