Offered in this lot is a pair of Shaquille O’Neal Los Angeles Lakers 1997-1998 Dual Signed Sneakers with attribution of wear to the 1997-1998 season. 


A size 22, this Reebok Shaq Reflection features sample tagging on the interior tongue tag. Additionally, the pair is signed by O’Neal on the medial collar of both shoes.  


The sneakers are accompanied by a letter from James Spence in regards to the signatures. 


At 7'1", Shaquille O'Neal is considered one of the most dominant players in NBA history. A 15-time NBA all-star, Shaq is also a four-time NBA champion. Between 2000 - 2002, Shaq led the Lakers, alongside Kobe Bryant to three consecutive NBA Championships. Shaq was named Finals MVP, all three years. In 2006, Shaq won his fourth championship with Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat. 


Aside from the championships, Shaq’s impact on the game is further exemplified by the three NBA All-Defensive Team selections and the league MVP honor in the 1999-2000 season. He also won an Olympic Gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. 


In 2011 O’Neal retired from the NBA, with regular-season career averages of 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game. He was enshrined into the Hall of Fame in 2016.
