The conversation regarding the greatest basketball player of all time may forever continue to be up for debate, but one thing is for sure, LeBron James will always be a part of the discussion. At 39 years old, amidst his 21st season in the NBA, James’ resume puts him on many NBA fans' Mount Rushmore.

The NBA’s all-time leading scorer, LeBron James is recognized as one of the greatest NBA players in the history of professional basketball. Debuting with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he was the first overall pick of the 2003 NBA draft. James’ move from his first NBA team, the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Miami Heat in 2010 is considered one of the boldest free-agent decisions in sports history. After winning two NBA championships in 2012 and 2013 for the Miami Heat, James returned to Cleveland. In 2016 he led the Cavaliers to their first NBA Championship, ending the city’s 52-year-long professional sports title drought. After his 2020 Championship title with the Los Angeles Lakers, he became the only player to win the NBA Finals MVP with three different teams.

The Air Force 1, arguably Nike’s most iconic sneaker, is in many regards, the first of its kind. Previously realized in running shoes, the introduction of Nike’s ‘Air’ technology in the midsole was a revolutionary concept for basketball sneakers. Tasked with bringing the concept to life, designer Bruce Kilgore and an aerospace engineer brought the project to fruition with a hiking boot-inspired, ankle-strapped, high top. Kilgore’s first basketball sneaker, the Air Force 1 was brought to market in 1982.

The LeBron James Nike Air Force 1 Low “Japan” from 2005 is a rare and highly coveted pair of sneakers. Crafted with a crisp white leather upper accented by bold red stitching, these shoes pay homage to Japan.

Adorning the lateral heel is an embroidered rendition of LeBron James' name in Japanese kanji, adding a unique touch to the design. The Rising Sun motif is featured on the tongue tag, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail on this pair. Further enhancing its premium quality are elements such as the leather sock lining, the Nike logo imprinted on the insoles, and the striking contrast of a bold red Nike Swoosh and outsole.
