Though this lively work was previously attributed to Luca Giordano, with the attribution confirmed by Walter Vitzthum to the current owner, the handling appears to be far more reminiscent of an artist active in Bologna, rather than Naples.
The drawing is perhaps most reminiscent of the work of Antonio Gionima, though no direct connection to a corresponding painting has yet been forthcoming.
