13 x 11. A set of 2 production animation cels from Bill Plympton's Your Face, 1987.
Bill Plympton started his career as an illustrator and cartoonist for publications like The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Village Voice and The National Lampoon. Bill had always been an animation fan and began to seriously experiment with animated short films in 1968. In 1987, his fifth short, Your Face, was nominated for an Academy Award and Bill soon opened the Plymptoon Studio, beginning one of the most prolific animation careers in the the industry. To date, he had produced, directed and animated almost 50 short films, numerous pieces for television (including eight “couch gags for The Simpsons), eight music videos, four live-action and eight animated features. Among his many honors are two Oscar nominations, a Cannes Festival Jury Prize and a Winsor McCay Annie Award for lifetime achievement.
