The Book of Common Prayer, and administration of the sacraments (The whole book of Psalms, collected into English metre, by Thomas Sternhold, John Hopkins, and others). Oxford: University Printers, 1708 (London: William Pearson for the Company of Stationers, 1709)


2 parts in one volume, 8vo (197 x 118mm.), ruled in red, contemporary red morocco elaborately gilt including stags and small urns with flowering stems, spine similarly gilt in compartments, gilt edges, occasional light browning, quire S brittle with a few small holes and tears, a few small marginal tears, extremities slightly rubbed, spine chipped at ends


A closely related binding is recorded in Davis Gift 143, with a similar overall design and also with small stag stamps, which is identified as a London binding from c. 1693. The design is similar to those employed by the Spaniel Binder.
