2 parts, Chancery folio (302 x 203mm.), 68 (of 70) leaves, [a4] a-f8.6 g-k6; 88 leaves (of 90, without 2 blanks), [a4] A-H8.6 I-N6, double column, 46-47 lines plus headline, gothic type, initials supplied in red or blue, initial-strokes in red, larger initials in red and blue with elegant penwork decoration, early annotations, some deckle edges, modern tooled calf, slipcase, lacking first leaf (containing title only) and blank leaves k6, 2[a]1 and N6, occasional light staining


A crisp copy of Hugo of St Victor's work of mystical theology, written in the early twelfth century.
