L'Epée was founded in 1839 and started manufacturing platform escapements for prestigious alarm clocks and carriage clocks from 1850. Today, the company is well known for collaborating with independent watchmakers such as MB&F. This highly decorated carriage clock strikes the hours on the hour, and one strike at the half hour. There is also an alarm and a striking button in the top of the clock. What further elevates this example is the lever escapement sitting proudly within a tourbillon carriage but can be marveled through the top of the clock.
