• Movement: gilded full plate, later cylinder escapement, later screw-set plain three-arm balance, going barrel wound by large crescent-shaped platinum weight, the weight engraved Leroy rue Dauphine à Paris, the weight with two polished steel banking springs and blued steel frictional rollers, repeating on two blued steel coiled gongs, backplate signed Leroy, no. 2407
• Dial: later silver engine-turned, the polished chapter ring with lettering spelling Leroy à Paris, outer minute ring
• Case: later pink gold, the band engraved 'les heures passant le temps vécu reste', the middle of the band with milled silver section

The signature to the edge of the platinum weight would suggest that the maker of this watch was Jean-Baptiste-Samson Leroy whom Tardy records at Rue Dauphine, Paris, between 1772 and 1789, see: Dictionnaire des Horlogers Français, Vol. II, 1971, p. 404.
