8vo (168 x 116cm), initial licence leaf, engraved musical examples within the text, 5 folding plates of engraved music (2 containing music by Christopher Simpson), with penultimate advertisement leaf (for John Carr) and final blank, errata corrected in an early hand, Dolmetsch Library stamp and pencil shelfmark ("II C 10") to verso of title, contemporary calf with double gilt fillet border, retaining early front flyleaf with the stamped letter 'B', lacking additional engraved title, rebacked with new endleaves, repaired at board edges and corners
