A group of three gold-mounted rock-crystal or glass snuff boxes, Paris, late 18th century and later


the first, Paris, 1750-56, oval, two-coloured gold mounts chased with entrelac-de-rubans and ovolo borders, discharge mark of Julien Berthe only, 5.8cm., 2 1/4 in. wide; the second a rock-crystal bonbonnière with enamelled two-coloured gold mounts, probably Jean François Morand, Paris, 1782-1789, circular, rim and base mounted in a yellow gold border chased with tulips and scrolling foliage, the outer rose gold border enamelled with opaque pale blue crosses, maker's mark, gros charge mark of the second set of Henril Clavel (1782-1789), other marks illegible. 6.6 cm., 2 5/8 in. diameter; the third, probably late 19th century, rectangular with two-coloured gold mounts, the body decorated in a shaped diamond pattern, apparently unmarked,6.5cm., 2 1/2 in. wide
