Willabelle Ong is a Singapore-based artist whose abstract expressionist works draw inspiration from the natural world. Ong’s painting process is organic and intuitive, conveying the essence of the subject matter through colour, texture and gesture. While she initially gained recognition as a fashion content creator, her passion for art has flourished into a significant aspect of her creative identity. In 2020, she collaborated with Swiss Haute Horlogerie manufacturer Vacheron Constantin on a painting inspired by their Égérie collection.

Rolling Sea is a tribute to the ocean’s depth, beauty and unpredictability. The painting features layered brushstrokes executed in shifting tones of blue, capturing moments that ebb and surge like waves across the canvas. Ong relates these qualities of movement, tension and surrender with the emotional intensity found in nature. Through its immersive scale and calming palette, the work invites viewers to take a moment to reflect, breathe and be carried away.
