BODE Juniper Stripe Double-Breasted Suit, 2023

Emily Adams Bode Aujla, head designer and founder of BODE, wore the original suit to accept her award as 2021 Menswear Designer of the Year at the CFDA Awards. This suit was then reproduced for BODE’s 2022 Pre-Fall collection and features four double-breasted buttons and three front pockets. The print was inspired by Kutnu fabric, traditionally woven in Gaziantep, Turkey, and rendered in satin with silk warp and cotton weft thread which provides a distinct shimmer. To participate in the Sotheby’s x CFDA auction, Bode remade the suit in New York with added vintage rhinestone embellishments.
