Christian Siriano Red Silk Faille and Crepe Mock Neck Sculpted Mini Dress, 2020

Christian Siriano’s Spring 2021 fashion show was conceptualized while Siriano was quarantining during the 2020 pandemic. He developed a romantic collection inspired by his surroundings. The flowers in his garden and favorite childhood movies such as Troop Beverly Hills, Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead, Clueless, and The Wizard of Oz determined the fabrics and silhouettes that would be modernized for the current woman. He cooked more often and developed an affinity for heirloom tomatoes, which influenced the collection’s rich color palette. This particular dress was inspired by a blossoming rose, and was styled on Jennifer Lopez for the 2020 People’s Choice Awards.
