Although the text of this manuscript is unrecorded, it bears the name Abu Ja'far Muhammad ibn Ayyub-i Haseb-i Tabari, this text on the science of astronomy and astrology is probably based his Ma’rifat al-taqwim (Knowledge of almanac). Tabari was an eleventh century astronomer active in Persia, who wrote numerous important treatises on the astrolabe that are among the oldest extant Persian texts on this topic. For further reading on Tabari, see Vesel 2007, p.1119. The colophon notes that the manuscript was copied at the house of [Husayn] Qoli Bayg, the servant of the Royal Household.
