VACHERON CONSTANTIN
PLATINUM, CHRONOGRAPH, PERPETUAL CALENDAR WITH MOON-PHASES INDICATIONS, AUTOMATIC GENTLEMAN’S WRISTWATCH, REF 49005/000P
The newest timepiece to be included in this sale, the reference 49005 is a feat of Vacheron Constantin’s watchmaking savoir-faire. First launched in 1992, this highly complicated piece combines a perpetual calendar — meaning it will display the day, date and month continuously, accounting for leap years — along with a moon-phase display and chronograph function, all of which are housed in a fine and elegant platinum case. This piece, manufactured in 2002, is one of only 35 to feature a platinum case and this rare salmon-hued dial in gold with a handmade guilloché decoration. Beyond its technical bonafides, this watch features a remarkably clean, legible face that is embellished with lapis lazuli and gold moon-phase disk.
