rectangular moulded shape, the lid finely painted with an oval medallion of a nobleman wearing a red jacket and purple cloak flanked by kakiemon flower sprigs within a raised iron-red edged panel, the sides and underside with further kakiemon flowers, the lid interior finely painted with a half-length female figure playing a lute within iron-red scrolls
