Description

circular-shaped, the centre decorated with garlands of flowers, swags and cabochons, centered with an applied later coat-of-arms, with a similar decorated border, marks on the centre: town, maker’s mark, assay’s maker and control mark of kingdom of Sardinia 1825-1861


Diam. 49 cm (19 1/4 in); weight. 950 gr. (30.54 oz.)

The coat-of-arms are those of the Grand Duchy of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach, created in 1809 with the unification of the duchy of Saxe-Weimar and the duchy of Saxe-Eisenbach by Charles-August (1757-1828). The duchy joined the German Confederation of Northern Germany in 1865 and became part of the German Empire in 1871.
