painted below the spout with a view of Naples, titled Veduta delle Crocelle al Chiatamone, e Castello dell'Ovo, within a rectangular gilt frame, gilt scroll and foliate borders, the gilt handle with shell terminal

Solitaires of the type to which this milk jug would have belonged, painted with views of Naples, were often commissioned by the royal family and used as gifts to members of the Neapolitan court.
