A Derby Inkstand, Circa 1760


rectangular with pink and green scrolled edges painted with flowers, comprising a pen tray, an inkwell and pounce pot each painted with a vignette of a bird, a taper stick secured to tray, and a cover with fruit finial painted with landscapes. 4 pieces.

A variation of the model was produced at Chelsea, an example of which is illustrated in Robert Schmidt, Early European Porcelain as Collected by Otto Blohm, Munich 1953, p. 260, cat. no. 385.
