The Rolex Datejust 1603 was introduced in the late 1950’s and was a complement to the well-known 1601.
The main difference between the two models is the bezel. With the 1603, the engine turned bezel is made in stainless steel, as opposed to gold with the 1601. Being made in the same material allows the watch to have a more homogeneous appearance and it gives a sportier feel on the wrist. This particular example is fitted with a light champagne pie-pan dial with matching hands, providing a extra twist to the celebrated model.
