The third volume of the Lyon octavo reprints of Aldo’s 1504 Latin folio edition, in a contemporary Venetian binding; the small arabesque stamp on the binding is almost identical to one used by the Mendoza Binder (see lot 313, Cicero, 1521).

8vo (166 x 98 mm). Italic text, 32 lines plus headline. collation: AAA-ZZZ AAAA-BBB⁸ CCCC¹²: 212 leaves, foliated. (Occasional slight browning or staining.)

binding: Contemporary Venetian morocco tooled in gilt and blind (171 x 108 mm), blind-tooled ropework border, small gilt arabesque stamp in two groups of four with two single stamps in center of panel, gilt fleurons at edges, spine blind-ruled in a diamond pattern, plain edges, title lettered across foot of textblock, stubs from two pairs of ties, medieval manuscript board liner laid down on replacement pastedown. (Extremities slightly rubbed, joints cracked, spine restored at ends, new endpapers.)
