The “pinnacle of luxury” was what Direk Wettengel, the former director of Audemars Piguet Germany, advocated for what eventually became the Offshore project. Unveiled in 2015, the Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph ‘Forged Carbon’ personifies Wettengel’s vision of what the Offshore was meant to be to the tee.

Featuring a Méga Tapisserie dial and together with the oversized ceramic pushers and bezel, the watch certainly creates a commanding presence on the wrist. Despite its imposing aura, the watch only weighs 120g thanks to its carbon construction, demonstrating Audemars Piguet’s masterclass in material engineering. Long discontinued, this present example comes with a full set and is highly sought after due to its distinctive aesthetic.
