Calibre: frosted gilded 8-day duration movement, unsigned, lever escapement, bi-metallic compensation balance with timing and poising screws, flat hairspring
Case: gilded case, each side with borders of white and turquoise enamel banding, hinged case back opening to reveal movement backplate, bun feet, stamped 0.935 and Argent Doré

This Edwardian clock elevates the simple cuboid form of the traditional carriage clock by introducing decorative enamel banding on each of its silver-gilt panels, lending the piece a quietly refined and more sophisticated character. Bearing a London retail stock number and housed in a Cartier London presentation case, the dating of this clock to circa 1911 suggests it was sold within the first decade of the Maison’s establishment in London in 1902, and likely within a few years of the opening of its landmark Bond Street boutique in 1909.
