An Egyptian Bronze Figure of Osiris

26th/30th Dynasty, 664-342 B.C.


the god standing on a trapezoidal base, his hands emerging from his cloak and holding the crook and flail, and wearing a broad collar with tassel behind, chevron-incised beard with chin-straps, and the atef-crown with ram horns, the base engraved on two sides with a line of inscription translating "May Osiris give life (to) Penes, son of Herbes."
