Conceived and cast in 1928, this exceptional and exceedingly rare bronze is only known by one other example held at the Musée Pompon in Saulieu. This late work is considered a masterpiece of Pompon's art, revealing a perfection rarely equaled while giving the impression of an astonishing simplicity and purity of lines as highlighted by Liliane Colas in her report.
