Founded in 1755, Vacheron Constantin is recognised as the oldest watch manufacture in continuous operation. By the early twentieth century, the Maison had established a reputation not only for technical watchmaking, but also for highly refined decorative craftsmanship, producing pocket watches that combined fine enamelling, gem-setting and elegant case design.
The present watch exemplifies this tradition. The yellow gold case is decorated with translucent blue guilloché enamel and centred by a raised diamond-set floral motif, creating a striking contrast against the restrained silvered dial. With its delicate proportions and richly ornamented exterior, the watch reflects the decorative sophistication associated with Vacheron Constantin’s jewelled pocket watches of the period.
