Pierre-Antoine Poiteau (1766–1854) was a French botanist, gardener and botanical artist, heavily influenced by Redouté. As head of a botanical mission in Haiti, he met Pierre Jean François Turpin (1775-1840), another French botanist and illustrator, one of the greatest of the Napoleonic era, and together they published the renowned Flora Parisiensis.
