Ordered by Mr. Enrico Gallo and offered to the Andrea Bocelli Foundation for the charity auction. Made in Forte dei Marmi.
One of the iconic portraits of Maestro Andrea Bocelli is immortalized thanks to the creative genius of Simon Berger, who transforms it into a work of art through an innovative technique achieved by micro-shattering glass plates. A “morphogenesis”, as the Swiss artist who conceived it calls it, through which features are revealed by the fragments derived from the scratches: the closer the hammer blows are, the greater the contrasts and nuanced detailing. Today Simon Berger is one of the most highly regarded visual artists in the world, having devised from scratch such an expressive technique based on unusual transparent canvases that become the backdrop for astonishing glassy paintings.
