Abercrombie and Fitch and Heuer started their brand partnership in the 1940s when the well known sporting goods store commissioned Heuer to produce several active wear watches to retail in their flagship Manhattan and Chicago stores.

Producing numerous models and references over the years, one of the most notable is the Seafarer. The Seafarer was born as a way for seamen to keep track of high and low tides during regattas, while also being able to time races and intervals via the chronograph function. The watch historically has an aperture at the 9 o’clock indicating the tides position, with a pusher at the 9 o’clock mark to adjust the tide indicator. The timepiece was housed in either a Carrara or an Auctavia case throughout the different production runs. Over the years, the Seafarer had been released in ten versions, varying in size and bezel type but all sporting the chronograph and tide aperture.

The present lot is nothing short of a stunning example of this highly desirable reference.
