木盒題跋：（平野五岳）戊子（1888）冬日古竹老衲嶽題簽。

平野五岳（1811—1893）日本江戸後期—明治期詩僧、書法家、畫家。文化8年（1811年）生於豐後（今大分縣）曾任大分縣真宗大谷派專念寺住持，法名聞恵，別號竹村、古竹園，與広瀬淡窓等文士友善，世稱詩書畫“三絕僧”作品極富書卷氣。
