釋文：蔡明遠，鄱陽人，真卿昔刺饒州，即嘗趍事。及來江右，無改厥勤，靖言此心，有足嘉者。一昨緣受替歸北，中止金陵，闔門百口，幾至餬口。明遠與夏鎮不遠數千里。臨於梅花書屋，石菴。鈐印：劉墉之印、石菴、御賜海岱高門第

裱邊題跋：(盛宣懷)翁、劉、梁、王四大名家，而劉石菴最精，洵為越世奇珍，豈容多留天地間也，願我子孫永遠寶之。庚子(1900)冬，杏邨盛宣懷識於海上愚齋。鈐印：宣懷之印
