Description
THE SEVEN YEAR ITCH
13 ¼ x 15 ⅝ in. (33.6 x 39.6 cm). 1956. US silver gelatin print, matted and framed.
Unframed dimensions: 8 x 10 in. (20 x 25 cm).
The present lot includes a perspex window to the back of the frame demonstrating various copyright details from when it was sent out on loan to different publications.
The Seven Year Itch was co-written and directed by Billy Wilder, and stars Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell. Ewell had also starred in the Broadway production, before taking on the same role in the film, where he won a Golden Globe.
