The present lot is a set of 2 production stills from the set of Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest, each matted and framed.

To the back of the frame of the production still featuring star Cary Grant and Hitchcock shaking hands, there is a perspex window showing film information, together with a dated approved advertising code stamp, dated 24th November 1958—during the filming of North by Northwest.

The second still features Alfred Hitchcock leaving the studio on one of the days filming North by Northwest. Hitchcock is driving a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300b Cabriolet D.

North by Northwest was directed by Alfred Hitchcock, and stars Cary Grant, Eva Marie Saint and James Mason. The score for this film was by Bernard Herrmann, who also collaborated with Hitchcock on Psycho, The Man Who Knew Too Much and Vertigo. The film's opening title sequence was created by the legendary graphic designer Saul Bass.
