Description

Nike, Nike Huarache 2K4, Size 16

Rubber, Cotton, Leather

2004

This pair of Nike Air Zoom Huarache 2K4 Player Exclusives was created for basketball star Amar'e Stoudemire surrounding the 2004 Olympic games in Athens, where he helped bring home a Bronze medal while playing for Team USA. Shortly before becoming an Olympic medalist, he won NBA Rookie of the Year in 2003, while playing for the Phoenix Suns. Stoudemire is also a 6 time NBA All-Star and 5 time All-NBA player.

The Nike Huarache, designed by Tinker Hatfield, was originally released in 1991. Years later, Eric Avar, returned to Hatfield’s model and created the Huarache 2K4, “to bring back classic basketball design principles in a very modern way.”

The sleek silhouette features a patriotic red, white, and blue colorway. White leather perforated uppers are accented with blue paneling, red soles and coordinating Swooshes throughout. White velcro straps feature 2K4 branding and “STAT.” The heels are embroidered Greican columns, inspired by the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, Greece.
