NIKE, NIKE REJUVEN8 OLYMPIC MEDAL STAND SHOES, SIZE 11.5

Leather, Rubber, Cotton, Glue

2008

Leading up to the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, Nike designed what would become the medal stand shoes for team USA, the Rejuven8 Beijing. This model sneaker was worn by Olympic Medalists such as Michael Phelps, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant.

The 2008 Summer Olympics was the first Olympic tournament held in China, and the third time the games were held in east Asia throughout the competition’s modern 125 year history. Athletes from 204 Olympic Committees competed and it was one of the first Olympic tournaments to be broadcast online, with over 4.7 billion viewers worldwide.

Included in this lot is one pair of Nike Rejuven8 Beijing Promotional Sample shoes, made exclusively for Olympic athletes to wear on the medal stand, and one pair of limited edition Nike Rejuven8 Beijing shoes, in the extremely rare Olympic Obsidian colorway. Both pairs have a dark blue upper with a white crosshatch design. The promo pair, made exclusively for Olympic athletes, also includes a red Swoosh. Both pairs are accented with the Team USA logo on the tongue and outsole. Two sets of laces are included, one white and one red.
