ink and color on silk, depicting Zhenwu and his celestial court, the Daoist God seated at the center surrounded by attendants, celestial marshals and guardians, all observing an intertwined tortoise and snake on the ground before them, all against a backdrop of scrolling clouds, with banners, standards and the top of a military encampment emerging behind, framed
