Ogata Gekko (1859-1920)
Two woodblock prints
Meiji period, late 19th century
each a woodblock print, signed Gekko; each with collector's seal of Gerhard Pulverer to verso, and comprising:
- The Poet Basho’s House at Sekiguchi, triptych, sealed Gekko, published in 1898
- Deer on a Bridge, with artist’s two square red seals, published by Matsuki Heikichi (Daikokuya), circa 1900s
Vertical oban triptych: each sheet approx. 35.6 x 23.5 cm., 14 x 9¼ in. (the first)
Shikishiban: 23.4 x 24.6 cm., 9¼ x 9¾ in. (the second)
