AN INLAID ROSEWOOD MANTEL CHRONOMETER, LATE 18TH CENTURY AND LATER


the gilt engine-turned arched dial signed Arnold, the associated and earlier movement with circular plates and turned and ringed pillars, going barrel with set-up ratchet mounted on the backplate, five-wheel train, the escape wheel mounted between the plates, the Arnold-type Z balance and detent mounted on a platform at right angles to the plates, blued helical spring, the backplate stamp numbered 12, the later associated case with brass mouldings, inlaid stringing and turned feet
