Description

Château Cheval Blanc 1929

St. Emilion, 1er Grand Cru Classé (A)

u. t/hs, label soiled and very slightly nicked at top but good for age, Barton & Guestier slip label soiled and slightly peeling at top corner, short vintage embossed metal capsule wrinkled revealing vintage embossed cork, good colour and clarity

An amazingly small yield of 7.6 hectolitres per hectare and 14.6 degrees of alcohol. A great sweet scent and terrific sweet class on the palate. Magic. Violet creams on the finish, with '29 silkiness. Breathtaking in its beauty. Ten years ago I remarked on its cedary qualities - it was superb then and it is superb now. Serena Sutcliffe, MW
