Ex-Hauge collection, U.S.A., formed between 1962 and 1966.
By descent, 2016.

The Hauge collection comprises works which were collected by two brothers, Osborne and Victor Hauge and their wives Gratia and Takako, from 1962-66. The breadth of their collection comprised Persian, Japanese, Chinese and Southeast Asian Works of art. A large part of their collection was donated to the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery at the Smithsonian Institute between 1996 and 2005. This formed part of a dedicated exhibition: Asian Traditions in Clay: The Hauge Gifts, 29 October 2000-22 April 2001. The present lot, as well as lot 185, both formed part of this collection, by descent.
