Gods’ Inspection (2023) is an art piece that speaks about the relationship between beliefs, humans, and gods.

Inspired by the traditional Taiwanese temple parade, Mazu Pilgrimage, the inspection tour of the most worshiped sea goddess. This artwork featured two iconic guardian gods from Mazu beliefs, Qianliyan and Shunfeng'er, one believed can see everything and the other can hear everything, inspecting the realm for Mazu along the parade.

With believers setting off firecrackers to welcome the coming of the gods, it’s believed that gods will bring protection and safety to the places they passed through.
