‘I would like to paint at every hour, at every feeling, at every idea, at every new revelation which, at this point, naturally follows, in a whirlwind, gently in this curious nature of mine which is so tormented that I therefore think of it as so profoundly balanced. I am interested in creating art by painting but not in creating art without painting because I love to paint. I love rare things, painting is a rare thing and even more painting well… to destroy painting, apart from being impossible, would also be stupid, because it would be like destroying the individuality which would be the same thing as destroying the individual. The only thing that I can do, is paint.

Mi interessa fare dell'arte facendo della pittura, ma non mi interessa fare dell'arte senza fare della pittura, perché amo dipingere. Amo le cose rare, fare della pittura è raro e ancora di più fare della buona pittura...distruggere la pittura oltre che impossibile sarebbe stupido, perché sarebbe come distruggere l'individualità e ciò è la stessa cosa che distruggere l'uomo. Io, la sola cosa che posso fare, è dipingere."
