R epresented by de Sarthe Gallery, Mak Ying Tung 2 is a young Hong Kong based conceptual artist who works in a range of mediums including sculptures, installations, paintings, drawings and videos, even expressing herself through stand-up comedy. Mak 2 added the ‘2’ to her name in 2018 after a Feng Shui master told her that the number would bring her success. The artist aims to entertain through her work, despite subtle references to darker themes apparent throughout her diverse oeuvre. The artist is perhaps best known for her Home Sweet Home series, canvas triptychs painted by individuals found on the Chinese e-commerce platform Taobao, that use the video game “the Sims” as a visual construction tool to illustrate imagined home-scapes set in Hong Kong.

麥影彤二是一位年輕的香港概念藝術家，由德薩畫廊代理，她的創作媒介不拘一格，涵蓋雕塑、裝置、繪畫、素描和影片，她甚至還會以棟篤笑來表達自我。2018年，藝術家在自己原本的名字後加上「二」，源於一位風水師曾告訴她這個數字會為她帶來成功。藝術家的創作宗旨在於娛樂，儘管她豐富多樣的作品全都微妙地指涉到更陰暗幽深的主題。藝術家最廣為人知的作品大抵是《美好家園》系列的畫布三聯屏，每一屏分別由中國電商平台淘寶上不同的畫家繪製而成，運用了電子遊戲「模擬人生」作為視覺建構工具，藉以描繪出想像之中的香港家居景觀。
