Yessica Marks joined Sotheby’s London Prints Department in 2011. As a specialist, she is responsible for sourcing consignments and cataloguing the modern and contemporary prints included in the departments biannual Prints & Multiples sales, as well as the annual Important Ceramics by Pablo Picasso auction.
Ms Marks is deeply involved in the annual Made in Britain sale comprising British art from the 20th century, where a world record price at auction for a Bridget Riley print was broken as well as four world record results for Richard Hamilton. She has been involved in the successful sale of collections belonging to the late Stanley J. Seeger (March 2011, September 2013), Gunter Sachs (May 2012) and a Private Collection of Important Ceramics by Pablo Picasso (March 2013).
Prior to joining Sotheby’s, Ms Marks studied in New York and London, and obtained a BA Hons from Central Saint Martins in Culture, Criticism and Curation of the Arts. She speaks fluent Swedish, Norwegian and Danish, and travels regularly in Europe, with a particular focus on Scandinavia.
