When the Beatles' first proper tour of the U.S. kicked off at the Cow Palace in San Francisco, on 19 August 1964, Beatlemania was already in full swing. The performance lasted just 29 minutes and resulted in 19 girls receiving first aid and two fans arrested. Over the years Beatlemania has taken hold of Sotheby's a number of times as pieces of the Fab Four's legacy have come to the auction block.
