NEW YORK – It’s not surprising that rosé is mostly consumed between May and September. Light and refreshing with their cool, pale-pink colors, these wines practically define summertime drinking. From the selection of terrific rosés currently available at the Sotheby’s Wine retail store, I’ve chosen three favourites at a range of prices.

(Left to Right)

Sancerre Rosé, Andre Dezat 2013 $22.95
Sancerre is most recognized as Sauvignon Blanc territory, but also is home to unique rosés made exclusively from Pinot Noir. A slight hint of strawberry and chiseled, mouth-watering freshness make this a perennial favorite.

Miraval Rosé, Jolie-Pitt & Perrin 2013 $24.95/bottle, $54.95/magnum
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Miraval estate has for its second year produced an accessible, versatile, delicious and delicate rosé. A summer 2014 refrigerator must-have.

Domaine Ott, Château de Selle 2013 $42.95/bottle, $124.95/magnum
The Provençal rosé to the glamourous crowd on the Côte d’Azur, Domaine Ott’s sculpted, curvy bottle celebrates the sunnier side of life. Ripe fruit and a luxurious texture make Ott a wonderful rosé for food as well.
