LONDON - We have great sales throughout the year in our three wine centres, London, New York and Hong Kong, but our next sale in London on 21 March combines all that is unique in a wine auction, with diversity added to the perfect provenance that is a vital feature of our philosophy.

The sale has three distinct wine collections – and a lot more besides! The Bordeaux Winebank Selection is made up of classic Bordeaux, majoring on the illustrious First Growths and the vintages that ‘sing’, such as 2000, 2003 and 2005 – one can pounce on the 2003s quite soon as the weather was so hot that year, but the remarkable 2005s need time at this level. Don’t forget the Yquem in this section either – I always feel like a potentate when sipping it.

Then there is The Adrian Bowden Collection Part III, which is particularly personal for me as Adrian was a friend who died too young and with whom we enjoyed so many great bottles and conversations – somehow the two go together! Here are all the most mouth-watering gems from France’s best vineyards, from 1953 to 1993, in full case quantities coming straight from the owner’s country house cellar – plus Australia’s marvellous Grange and serious Vintage Port. Nirvana for wine lovers.

We move on to a stunning collection of historic Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne and German wine from a wonderful source on the Continent, again, a cellar that we know well. This is a veritable treasure trove and these are bottles to drool over. My personal picks would be the mythical Krug Champagne and the glorious Auslesen, Beerenauslesen, Trockenbeerenauslesen and Eiswein from the Mosel, all of which are nectar.

To round off this exciting sale there is more glittering Burgundy from the very top domains and show-stopping Rhône, not forgetting the mature Pomerol and magnums of Cheval Blanc…..Oh well, one can dream.
